Kenmore oven repair large element won't heat,check and see if the Sure simmer switch is not pushed in.Picture shows the switch pushed in and the selector switch on HI this will not allow the element to fully heat.To correct problem turn off the selector switch to off position and press in the sure simmer switch back to off.This will allow the element to work normally again.

surface element wont heat.
If the large surface element won't heat, check the simmer select button make sure it is not pushed in .This picture shows the surface element on HI and the simmer switch selected.The surface element will not heat if it is selected. First turn the element switch
to the off position then push in the simmer select switch this will enable the element to work normaly again. The picture below shows the simmer select switch deselected.

Looking at the picture this door gasket needs to be replaced. It is not making a good seal and the oven is loosing heat making it harder to maintain proper temperature. Replace door gasket if it is very hard to the touch or if it is ripped. General Electric WB32K5038 GASKET, OVEN DOOR

Door gasket inner door view has been pushed out the end of the door gasket. Look at the picture shows the center point or the end of the gasket pushed out the center hole.
Oven door gasket can now be removed. Feel for the clips with your thumb and index finger and squeeze together the clips, this will allow it to be released from it's hole. Radiant cooktop surface element checks bad
Radiant cooktop element is checking bad. A visual inspection reveals a burned spot on top center portion of the coil. We can assume that this element is most likely bad. By using a digital meter we can confirm this . Setting the meter on ohms and placing the red lead one side of the coil and the black lead on the other side of the coil we get a reading of OL. M ohms Indicating a open coil winding .The element will have to get replaced.

Ge dual element .To check use a digital meter place it to read omhs as shown on picture, next place the red and black leads on the element as shown, this shows that the inner ring on the element is open O.L M ohms is indication of a bad element.The element will have to be replaced.

GE broil is burned out picture shows an open element. To test broil set each end of you're wire probes to the element and set you're digital meter to ohms. Picture shows were dial should be set to. A good reading is about 16.5 omhs. A bad reading will show O.L M ohms Indicating an open circuit.The element will need to be replaced .

Ge surface coil element
Using a digital meter set to scale to read ohms Normal reading should be about 25ohms to under 30 ohms depending on the coil turns. Place you're red lead on one side of the coil and the black lead on the other side of the coil.
The picture show's 27.3ohms which reads good no need to replace surface element . If only one or two of the elements are not working or intermittently working the blocks that hold the elements could have bad contacts or switch may be bad .This requires that a service company check unit.

G.E. cooktop elements are not working ,check the breakers and reset them. It may have triped the breaker and now the cooktop will not work. If only one of them does not work this probably will indicate a bad surface element or the selector switch.If the inner coil on a dual element does not turn on but the outer coil lights up this is a indication of a bad element. It will have to get replaced ..
