One of the most common mistakes after replacing a garbage disposer is not removing the tap. After installing a new disposer the complaint may be that the dishwasher will not drain out .The tap will have to be removed from the disposer in order for the dishwasher to drain out.The tap is found inside were the drain line connects to.Remove the drain line attached to the disposer, (see pictures.) Use a nut driver or a screwdriver and remove the drain line from the disposer.
Use a small screwdriver and a hammer, hit the end of the screwdriver and guide the it along the edges of the plastic tap. The tap is made of plastic and should punch through into the disposer. Then , you will have to remove the plastic tap that fell inside the disposer . Reattach the drain hose to the disposer, make sure that it is tight so it will not leak. Turn on the dishwasher and it should start to drain out. Picture below shows the plastic tap removed.
