Appliance/Range/oven replacing door hinge recievers

Oven /range door recievers need to be replaced. This picture shows the recievers that have been worned out on the bottom. The symptoms in knowing when to replace the recievers are: When the door is closed  the oven door light does not go out and the door does not fully close.

How to replace the oven door recievers
Remove the door by using a small screwdriver to push down the lock latch till it hits the back of the hinges. Do this to both sides of the door, as the picture shows. This will allow you to remove the door. By holding the door firmly and using an upward and out movement the door will unlatch from the recievers. Also you must remove the bottom drawer to unit.

Oven door recievers are held by two screws. Use a screwgun and remove both top and bottom screws.Do one at a time so you can look at how it must be put back on to frame. The next picture will
show how to put it back on .

Remove the oven drawer so you can have access to the inside of the frame. Look at the picture you can see how it should go back on. You will have to slide the reciever up and against the frame and align it to the frame screw holes. Using a pair of needle nosepliers grab the reciever from the center as seen on picture . This will aid you in holding the reciever in place so you can screw them  back in there place . Do the same on both sides. Reinstall door to the recievers, do not forget to push back the lock latch to secure the door.

Appliance/oven /range/ replacing oven door hinges or springs

How to replace the oven door hinges. Remove the door by using a small screwdriver to push down the lock latch till it hits the back of the hinge, do this to both sides of the door, as the picture shows. This will allow you to remove the door. By holding the door firmly and using an upward and out movement the  door will unlatch from the recievers.

The oven door hinges are secured by two screws on each side of the door, as seen on this picture. Remove both screws from both sides of the oven door, this will allow you to remove the hinges from the door. The next step shows how to remove  hinges .

Remove all the screws from the bottom frame, this will allow separation between the front glass and the back panel frame. The door hinges can now be removed by separating the two frames. Look at the next steps.

Remove the door springs by separating the inner door glass panel and the front glass. Use a piece of wood or similar to wedge open slightly the two panels so that the springs can be removed easily. Replace both springs of each side of the door. Reinstall the screws on each side that hold the springs on to the frame. Remove the wood-wedge and realign the front panel with the back panel so the screws on the bottom can be put back on.  Reversed the process to reinstall the door. You will need a kit purchased at sears parts or similar distribution center. Model# of the unit is required. The kit will have new screws and also will have new door recievers. There are direction in my blog on how to replace them if necessary. Here is picture of the recievers that have been worned down at the bottom and would have to be replaced.
